Fatty Time [Episode 11 - Sgt Frog Abridged Launch Party]
This one's especially bittersweet for me. We're celebrating the beginning of something that has gone on to mean a lot to me, but we were so clueless and irrelevant at this point. This lineup of the team was doomed to collapse, and it's incredibly obvious in retrospect. If all the arguing from podcast 1 to here didn't give you the hint, I already hated working with Fatman and dreaded having to continue our working relationship; really, I think we all hated being around each other more than we actually realized. Fun fact: I only complimented Fatman's theme song in my speech because I couldn't think of anything nice to say about him. I'm surprised it took us two more months before Yoshi and I finally kicked him out.
Embarrassing growing pains in action. Really glad we didn't have a loyal audience yet who could watch it all fold in on itself.
Once again dig us being hilariously cocky about SFA. If you've seen 1R, you know how dumb our big-headedness here really is. Also the arguing and obnoxiousness makes this damn-near unlistenable, especially at the start. Inviting my friend MCO was a bad choice, and he was very apologetic about it afterward.
'Sgt Frog Abridged Launch Party' is the eleventh episode of the Fatty Time podcast, celebrating the launch of 'Sgt Frog Abridged' and SFA Episode 1 (now 1R). It aired February 19, 2,010, and was hosted by DFatman, ThornBrain, and Mugiwara Yoshi, and was guested by Madcapoperator.
-Sgt Frog Abridged:
--Script 2 is ready
--Joke inspirations and explanations
--Yoshi's speech about the formation of the team
--Thorn's speech about being a part of an abridged series
--Yoshi's final message to new abridgers
-The script for SFA2 would be overhauled a second time when it did not fit with the source video; this, combined with voice actor troubles would hold the episode back until June 2,010.
--The SFA cast would end up being considerably different from how it is detailed in this podcast by the time of SFA2.
--Both SFA Episodes 1 and 2 have since been disowned and retconned; they are now referred to as SFA1R and SFA2R, the "R" meaning "Retconned". They were later remade between Seasons 1 and 2.
-The hissing in Yoshi's lines ended up being the strange way in which the microphone processed sound, not because of his computer's fan.
